      10K Hours to Excellence

Learning to manage people is a 10,000 hour endeavor.

This list came about in early 2015, when I was experimenting with writing short "what-to" guides for emerging managers. In user interviews, one reader told me that she’d pay for a guided tour to my blog.

This (free) collection isn’t exactly that guided tour. These are brief articles and projects that I've created over time. They're a good intro to the thinking that fuels my work.

      1. What You Disregard, You Accept: Red Flags for CEOs
      2. Learning #Management
      3. What’s An Emerging Manager?
      4. Anne Libby on Management (my newsletter)
      5. How I Read About #Management
      6. Silver Bullets, Workshops, and Workbenches
      7. #Management
      8. The Authoritative Resource Problem and #Management
      9. National Service, Culture, and the Workplace
      10. The Management Stack, the Story Arc, and World Building
      11. Programmers as Emerging Managers: Walking to Excellence, January, 2015 BrooklynJS presentation
      12. Syllabus for my #Management Intensive program
      13. Mission Possible:  Making the Most of a New Manager Training

And my sometimes-current (but probably not right now) list of related projects is here.
